Ekema M. D., a Buea resident, was arrested on Sunday September 2 while on the run after stabbing a lady whose name Cameroon Tribune got as Mary Dimongue Kontchou, popularly called "Prophetess". Prophetess died early Friday morning after being stabbed at her 'Jesus is Alive Church' premises in Small Soppo, Buea.
One of the church's Elders, explained that the death was orchestrated by one of the church members by name Ekema M. D who had made several death threats after his marriage proposals were rejected. The Prophetess never took the threats serious until Friday August 31 when eyewitness accounts hold that he entered the church, removed a dagger he had hidden and stabbed the Prophetess on her chest. With the help of some benevolent individuals, she was rushed to the Buea Regional Hospital Annex where she died upon arrival.
Meanwhile, the suspect fled from the wrath of the population but was later nabbed by the police in Buea Town on September 2.
