Thieves break into rehabilitation school in Bafoussam

The 2014-2015 school year looks bad for the Centre of special education and rehabilitation of the deaf and dumb (Cersom) of Banengo.

The burglars took away in passing, a plasma screen and Dvd Player, specially designed to transcribe the sounds to the learners. These educational tools were donations from external partners.

The Director General of the Cersom, Innocent Djonthe, said that the criminals took advantage of the rain which fell that night to commit the act. He evoked a possibility of internal complicity, because these tools have been installed in the classroom for only three weeks. The fact that the alleged thieves searched the drawers and swept away the two commands that are used to manipulate the screen, would be proof that they mastered the importance of the booty, he added.

The establishment attributed this one to negligence on the part of the children of the guardian, whom their father would have entrusted the custody of the establishment. Emile Talla, teacher at Cersom, explained that the guardian, Moussa Amadou, requested permission for a week, to get to Bamenda, to bury his brother-in-law.

Also, the Director revealed that since the establishment of the institution in September 1987, he has regularly suffered from theft: electrical cables, plates. In the meantime, the alleged criminals are still at large.
