Robbers Captured With 1000 Crates of Beer

Police of the Rapid Intervention Unit in Douala have arrested three individuals with 1000 crates of beer. The three suspects, Emmanuel Arcin Zo'obo, Lucien Tchoffo Nkonhawo and Oumarou Yaya were nabbed late October at Bonassama as they were busy off loading the bottled liquor.

This is the second time in a space of about a month that individuals stocking beer and sweet drinks into warehouses have been arrested and testified to the police of having stolen them.

It was during their regular patrol that the police led by Senior Police Constable Andre Guedjou discovered that a funny game was going on around a trailer bearing number plate LT TR 4845 parked along the road. While is not uncommon that they transport them in trailers like sane business people the police are still digging into uncovering how the liquor leave the companies unnoticed in such a bulk. A security source pointed to complicity between some company workers and bulk buyers who may receive more supplies than they have paid for.

When the occupants of the trailer saw the policemen, they took to their heels but were stopped in their flight by the police. A rapid exploitation of the three permitted the policemen to understand that the direction of the trailer has been diverted by the alleged robbers.

The three suspects with the 1000 crates of beer and the trailer were taken to the Central Police Station N°3 in Bonassama as investigations continue to arrest the other culprits.
