Prof. Mcmoli's Murder Creates Panic

Her corpse was discovered in her Ntamulung Church Centre residence in Bamenda on June 5.

News of last week's gruesome murder of the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine of the Cameroon Christian University, CCU, Bali near the North West Regional headquarters, Bamenda sent shock waves through the city.

According to authorities of the Presbyterian Church in Cameroon, PCC, Prof. Theodosia Eyong McMoli was found dead with her hands and feet tied to the bed and a blanket covering her face in her Church Centre residence at Ntamulung, Bamenda on Wednesday June 6, 2012.

After several attempts to get to her failed, PCC authorities were alerted and her door was forced open. As the story goes, she was at the CCU board meeting on Monday June 4 that extended into the early hours of Tuesday June 5. As a result, she was last seen at 2 am on Tuesday when she returned home.

So worrying are the strange circumstances surrounding Prof. McMoli's death as not much is known about the prime suspect, her driver. The police were alerted and after some investigation, some neighbours said they saw her driver locking her door on Tuesday morning. So far, the driver has not been found and his phone number is not going through. Investigations are on to track him down.

Professor Theodosia McMoli was in her 70s and was living alone. Her corpse is presently at the Buea Regional Hospital Mortuary in the South West Region, pending burial arrangements.
