Police in manhunt for killers of taxi driver

A manhunt is underway in Buea to track down an armed robber who murdered a popular taxi driver, Elvis Njeabra, popularly known as ‘Bea Bea Master.’
The 27-year-old driver, resident at the Bokwango Neighbourhood, was recently shot dead in the presence of his girlfriend.

According to eyewitness accounts, Njeabra and his girlfriend had decided to spend some quality time together at a snack bar in Bonduma that evening. On their way home, they were attacked by an armed robber.

The hoodlum reportedly asked the girlfriend of ‘Bea Bea Master.’ to hand over her hand bag to him, which she did without hesitation. But her boyfriend, who felt humiliated, reportedly engaged the gangster into a fight.

In the course of the stand-off, Njeabra was shot on the chest and was rushed to the Buea General Hospital for medical attention by some good Samaritans, but he later died as the doctors were struggling to perform surgery on him.
According to our source, after the deceased was shot,his girlfriendrefused to accompany him to the hospital and took off.

Speaking to The Post after the incident, one of Njeabra’s neighbours said they had pleaded with the deceased not to go out that night to no avail.

Different versions have emerged concerning the demise of the 27-year-old. While some hold that the girl whom the deceased went out with before his death was somebody’s wife, others said the driver may have gotten himself in a dirty business that finally took his life.

However, while the corpse of ‘Bea Bea Master’ has been deposited in the mortuary, the police have begun a manhunt to track down his assailant.
