Nine arrested in connection with Ta-a-Kimbo’s death

The Kumbo Police on Sunday, July 6, 2014, arrested nine suspects at Mbveh, in connection with the death of one man popularly known as “Ta-a Kimbo”, who was found dead under a truck at Mbveh Motor Park around 3pm.

According to a relation of the deceased person, Christopher Konglim alias “Ta-a Kimbo” was seen on that fateful day moving round with a wounded head.

Late Konglim is said to have been mentally deranged and used to move about, stealing things from people and selling. He was once married and a father to five children but drove away his wife when he started suffering from the feats of madness.

According to sources, he destroyed the house he lived in with the family and took solace in his father’s compound in Mbinkar, Banka quarter Kumbo. It is also alleged that when he started stealing people’s property and bringing them to the compound he was sent away.

Although the exact cause of his death is not known, people are convinced that Konglim must have died as a result of excessive bleeding from the wounds on his head.

Rumours, though not confirmed, abound that the deceased must have been beaten up severely by someone they are reluctant to name for having stolen his firewood that afternoon. Meanwhile the corpse was examined by medical personnel in front of the Deputy State Counsel for Bui, before being taken to the Shisong Catholic Mortuary for preservation and subsequent burial. Police investigations however continue.
