Hearing of Co-accused of the Olanguena Case Continues

Hearing on the embezzlement case pitting the Sate and the former Minister of Public Health, Olanguena Awono, Dr. Wang Hubert, Dr. Okala Abono Paphael Perez and others continued in Yaounde yesterday October 9, 2012 During the hearing one of the co-accused, Dr. Okala Abono was cross examined by the defense lawyers and the prosecution.

He answered questions on the management of the contract with the company Vision Sarl on the supply and distribution of mosquito bed nets to pregnant women and children below five years, the management of the HIPC Funds initiative among others. Dr. Okala told the court that the company, Vision Sarl has never supplied any mosquito bed nets to the National Malaria Control Programme and so his office has never produced any official statement. Hearing continued yesterday October 9.
