Four arrested in police raid

The Police in the Littoral Region, under the auspices of the Littoral Regional Delegate for National Security, Commissioner Raymond Essogo, raided neighbourhoods and caught criminals and illegal drug dealers.

On June 20, elements of the 6th District Public Security Police Station at Nkoluloun carried out a raid at the Nkolmintag neighborhood in which four individuals were arrested with three packets of cocaine. The four include, 24-year-old Samuel Edebwaeze Nigerian; Oumarou Ibrahimou, 22; Boris Wapi, 21; and a 22-year-old handicapped person, whose name was stated as Ahmed. They were caught red-handed after they snatched the handbag of a certain lady on board a taxi. The four suspects were found with three packets of cocaine and a dagger.

That same day, elements of the Central Police Station in Edea, in the Sanaga Maritime Division, captured three individuals in possession of 400 grams of Cannabis, aka, Indian hemp. Joel Kuete, 74; Djibrila Sabjo, 25; and Soulemanou Ousmane, 21, were caught at 8.00 pm in the Tongo neighborhood.

Meanwhile, different Police units in the Region were involved in the arrest of a fake Police Officer, as well as the some persons in possession and consumption of banned substances such as cocaine and cannabis or ‘banga’.

Elements of 8th District Public Security Police Station at Madagascar put an end to illegal activities of a certain Moise Bernard Liga III, who was passing for a Police Officer. On the night of June 20, Liga III was caught in his purported Police uniform with a pair of handcuffs and rangers. The fake Police Officer was denounced by inhabitants of the Nelson Mandela Roundabout, who he had been duping.

In a joint Police operation on the night of June 24, elements of the Special Police Station of the Douala Ports and the Rapid Intervention Regiment, ESIR, raided the custom’s zone of the Douala Ports Authority and some 27 individuals were arrested, among them four Chadians and a Central African Republic resident with no identification papers. The 27 suspects had 61 packets of marijuana, stolen bags of rice and no access zone badges.
