Fake Nextel director nabbed in Bertoua

Israel Roger Binde has been arrested for posing to be the Sales Director for Central Africa, responsible for the planning and programming of Nextel - Cameroon.

It is after an appointment missed with the real regional heads of Nextel, at the headquarters of Bertoua that the tracking down of Israel Roger Binde was launched on 10th November. The fake Director was preparing to strike yet another blow when he was denounced thus lead to police investigation.

According to police sources, he came to the regional agency as a strategic Nextel partner, explaining that he wanted to buy and sell Nextel products across the country. The Deputy Director of Nextel, Edouard Ndi Timungum, then notified the police for acts of this forgery.

Israel Roger Binde was made to understand that he had been exposed in the morning as the police started tracking this man who presented himself as commercial Director of Central Africa for Nextel network. He had been making a badge and business cards which he was distributing to dissuade skeptics.

He has reportedly undertaken a working visit to 4 sites of Nextel of Bonis, Leta, Mandjou et Bazzama, for surveys. And at each step, he explained to local employees of Nextel that he is the emissary of Directorate General for Central Africa, on a mission to identify the personnel problems and propose solutions once at the Headquarters.

He even gave a little cash to lure his interlocutors. At Leta site, for example, he met with Chief Ngonga Laro Nicolas whom he promised to solve some problems for. This Chief was eventually entrusted his contract and note of complaints of residents, after a reception ceremony in his honor. On this occasion, the villagers offered goats and chickens to this usurper.

Eventually, the police succeeded in arresting him in a hotel room on the night of November 10. He had been registered as South African and only spoke French to Receptionists. This imposter is currently locked up in the central prison of Bertoua, pending judgement.
