A gang of suspected robbers arrested after an operation

Heavily armed, they were arrested by the crowd yesterday Wednesday, October 8, 2014 while attempting to flee after yet another robbery.

According to police sources whose remarks are confirmed by the alleged victim, "the three suspected bandits just visited a company, Société des produits nouveaux (SDN), located in the district of Yademe.

In detail, Simb Simb, sales manager SDN, revealed that at approximately 10 o’clock, a taxi with three people on board parked in front of the shop. Two of the three occupants came and asked the price of size 40 mattresses. Fabrice Fofoué, stationed at the post, told them that he has no mattress of this dimension. They insisted asking those of 25 which we still did not have in stock in our stores.

After these responses, they suddenly released weapons and intimated us to lie down without shouting and to hand over all our phones. Having locked sellers and commercial agent, the suspected thugs headed for Ali Bawah, the Lebanese owner who was about to go make a payment to the Bank. "They threatened him and recovered all the money (the amount has not yet been determined) that he had. After the operation, they ran to the driver who was waiting in the taxi parked outside.

Only Simb Simb quickly recovered from his emotions and followed that taxi aboard a motorcycle taxi while yelling "thief!' to the attention of bystanders who did nothing. Unfortunately for the escapees who did not obviously mastered the plan of the city of Bertoua, they took the road which lead first to the Hausa district then branched off towards the Monou district at a place called "Borne fontaine".

According to Abo Ibrahim, one of the residents of this neighborhood, witness to the arrest of these suspected bandits, "they continued, and went towards quartier Monou 2, not knowing that the two locations were connected by the river Djadombe which is thrown by a monkey bridge. Realizing their mistake, they abandoned the taxi registered CE 837 mark EG Toyota Corolla in which they were and tried to sink into the swamp."

Unfortunately for them, the alerted population met up with them before the arrival of the security forces, from Esir and elements of the central police station of the town of Bertoua. In the abandoned vehicle, the elements of police found a loaded weapon and two machetes. People noted that "each bandit had an automatic pistol that they abandoned in the swamp when they were summoned by the security forces.

Information collected from good sources reported that "for over a week, the town of Bertoua is under the yoke of this gang. The same sources say that at the time of their escape out there, they had abandoned a taxi whose owner was not yet known to the central office responsible for the investigation.
