A boutique owner found dead in front of his shop

Ibrahima Sow, of Malian nationality, was shot, Wednesday, in the Nkolbikon district.

In the Nkolbikon neighborhood, behind the old Texaco station, the lifeless body of Ibrahima Sow, Malian national was found dead in front of his shop.

Police sources encountered at the scene of the tragedy reported that the poor shopkeeper, commonly referred to as Mama, received several blows at the hip and face area.

It was for this reason that the unrecognizable and wrapped body was carefully placed under the gaze of the medical examiner for analysis to be conducted at the regional hospital of the city, before being put in the morgue.

During our visit at the time of the gathering of the facts, we saw a new, blood stained machete.

"This is for sure the weapon that was used to commit this heinous crime!” says a police source.

"Our source adds that this tragedy occurred in broad daylight, around 1 p.m. After they succeeded, the criminals took off, forgetting the machete".

Residents of the neighborhood who knew very well the murdered were inconsolable. "I saw him this morning in his shop. He showed no sign of sickness. He always served clients as they desired", reflects Hannah, neighbour of the deceased.

Sources say that Mama resided in this area for more than a year and a half. He was well known in the Malian and Senegalese communities living in perfect communion and harmony with the local population of Bertoua.

This incident presents insecurity in our cities where some ill-intentioned individuals spread terror. An investigation is opened at the level of the judicial police to investigate this heinous crime.
