Bogmis the Cameroon rising basketball star

At 23, he is one of the best 3 point shooters in Cameroon.

He scored four of 9 three-point shots of Cameroon first leg match against Congo. At the Palais des Sports in Yaounde, the accuracy of Felix Bogmis has gained attention.

With a success rate of 67%, he was the best of the game. With an average of 5/11, he was one of the best three-point shooters of Cameroon with Harding Nana.

"Is he a pro?" Asked a reporter. No, Felix Bogmis (23, 1,94m, 90 kg), (position 2) of the national team in this qualifiers tournament for the Afrobasket and African Games, is a player of Ecole de Basket de Douala in the local league where he joined since 2008, thanks to coach Alain Zedong.

For this young lad, basketball has become a passion since 1997. That year, on his way home from school, he saw an image in the play area of the Lycée Classique de Bafia. "I saw a guy playing basketball, while the others were going to play football. I was immediately attracted, "he says.

The following week, he installed a makeshift rim made with a plate at home. Him and a friend therefore started practicing basketball with a soccer ball.

Some years later for professional reasons his parents moved to Mbandjock. "An elder was assisting me, my mother bought me a rim and I installed it. Since we had a mango tree, it was difficult for me to drop the ball directly inside the rim. I had to learn how to do it from long and middle range distance, "describes the young-man.

Practicing it allows him today to help his club and his country; he is also called "Mr. three points" in his team.

Accurate and clever in his game, he has only one thing in mind; definitely seize his chance in the national team like his idol, Christian Bayang.
