Yaounde is a jungle and some artists are roaring lions, being heard by millions of people in the capital. Sadrak is deemed a lion, an affiliate to ‘ecleftic Négrissime’, one of the pioneering groups of the art of rap in Cameroon.
In his few years of a trans-African journey between Burkina Faso, Senegal and Niger, he has shot to fame with collaborations with local actors of the HIPHOP. Sadrak has his own way of writing his lyrics, between metaphors, in French, English, ‘bassa’. He adds a twist of a griot’s manner of telling stories with humor; the stories of his depravity.
Successes of his tracks stem from the extract of the album success; valley of the kings, and its generic deep timbre which make his music easily recognizable. There was New York’s Jay z in following fat joe, jadakiss, jah rule and before Tupac and recently, the tube black and yellow wiz khilifa boasts of Pitssburg and others emerging from his hometown.
He talks about his city streets, glorify its heroes, is an old custom in the RAP, titled “Yaounde Tell the cradle city of RAP CAMEROON, Capital not only political but capital punishment and joys”. According to Sadrak, the city or the négrissime is born and has taken its first steps thus deserves to be celebrated. (From lyrics).
The aim is not being split because it knows there are 10 regions in Cameroon but many capitals all have their own unique history. So this love letter to Yaounde is more of a testament to its authenticity and its stories from the seven hills that characterize it.
It's heavy and heady; it’s a sign of a MONSTER who managed to combine quality and originality in all its productions ‘jusquici’. This is an interesting collaboration and we offer these two stars in the universe Rap Camer, a pure jewelry that famous Ongola the capital.
