West Bromwich Albion have enquired about Lorient striker Benjamin Moukandjo. The 27-year-old Cameroon international is also a target for Sunderland.

Moukandjo, who has had spells at Nancy and Monaco, scored 13 goals last season and has one year left on contract.

Lorient want £10million for Moukandjo who can play on either wing and as a central striker.

West Brom received a £20million bid for Saido Berahino on Tuesday, with the club refusing to back down over their asking price.

Should the move to the bet365 Stadium go through, a sizeable chunk could be reinvested in Moukandjo.

Albion have an interest in West Ham's Diafra Sakho, as do Crystal Palace, but the player is waiting to see what develops with Sunderland first as Sam Allardyce awaits the FA's decision over the England manager's job.

Sakho handed in a transfer request at the Hammers earlier this month after finding his starts under Slaven Bilic limited during the 2015-16 season.

Sunderland have yet to make a signing this summer, prompting Allardyce to express his frustration in the transfer market, but there are unlikely to be any incomings until he has decided on his own future.
