FC Barcelona: Bagnack, Dongou axed

Dissatisfied with the benefits of its reserves teams, Fc Barcelona have decided to do a cleaning up after FIFA suspension lifted recruitment that expired in late December 2015.

“The club’s training center, the Masia is being emptied at a breakneck pace to make room for 77 players recruited since January 1, 2016," said Le Jour on Monday, January 18, 2016.

Cameroonians are unfortunately the first to bear the brunt of this great sweep. Fabrice Ondoua has already packed his bags for Nastic.

Followed by Franc Bagnack whose contract was simply terminated by Fc Barcelona. His performance had decreased since his injury this past season and the Cameroon defender was dismissed by the Catalan club on Thursday, January 14, 2016, says the Journal.

The adventure, almost eight years, with the Masia came to an end. Recruited in 2008, he started with Barcelona B in Spanish second division on September 8, 2012, to face CD Guadalajara.

But his many injuries did not allowed him to spread his genius. According to Spanish press, his now former employer have paid him the remainder of his contract, which will expire in June 2017, as it is an unfair dismissal.

After Fabrice Ondoa, Frank Bagnack and Jean Marie Dongou are also expected to pack in the coming days. Elche and Zaragoza (Segunda A) were interested in the profile of the young Cameroonian striker who failed to make his mark in the first team despite some nice outings. His contract will be terminated, and the player intends to fight for his future in the Spanish D2.

His first call for a First Division match took place November 23, 2013, at the 14th day of the championship of Spain between Barcelona and Granada CF. But he remains on the bench the entire game.

Later, on July 24, 2013, he played a friendly match with the first team of FC Barcelona in the 2-0 defeat by Bayern Munich. Three days later, he scored his first two goals with Barcelona facing the modest Norwegian side Vålerenga after he replaced Lionel Messi during half-time.

On August 2, Dongou scored a goal with Barcelona in the match against Santos FC at the Joan Gamper Trophy (win 8-0).

For the first time in his career, Jean Marie Dongou was called to play a friendly match with Cameroon against Gabon, on August 9, 2013, but the match never took place.

Dongou was reconvened for the qualifying match of World Cup 2014 on September 8, 2013, against Libya.
