Cameroon forward Clinton N’Jie, has no regrets over leaving UEFA Champions League side Olympique Lyonnais for Europa League outfit Tottenham Hotspur.

The 22-year-old striker revealed the real reasons why he decided to dump French giants Lyon, and join English Premier League side Tottenham in mid-August.

"Like every young player, it is not easy to leave a club that is also ambitious. But I think Tottenham has very, very good ambitions too,” N’Jie said.

"It was difficult for me, but I think when Tottenham came along it was a good opportunity for me, so I just had to use the chance,” the Lyon academy product insisted.

"It is a club that usually do well in the English league and I think the coach here brings up very well young players.

"You can see that from Harry Kane last season and some other young guys that are doing well for themselves this season,” N’Jie pointed out.

"That was one of my reasons to come to Tottenham - to get a bit of progress and continue my career over in England," he added.

The London-based side are set to face AS Monaco at the Stade Louis II on Thursday night.

N’Jie discussed AS Monaco, a side he faced during his days at Lyon in the Ligue 1.

"I spoke about Monaco with my team-mates and gave some information. Last year I played against Monaco and it's a good team,” the Buea-born player revealed.

He said it will be a difficult match against one of the best teams in France. After winning against City we were very proud of our job.

“It is another game against Monaco who is a big team too and we will try and do a big match to get a good result here," he concluded.
