Mario Balotelli eyed by Sampdoria to partner Samuel Eto'o

Sampdoria president Massimo Ferrero has re-iterated his desire to sign Mario Balotelli from Liverpool.

The club's eccentric owner, who wanted to take the Italy striker on loan earlier this year, said: 'Balotelli is a great name. He’d suit a lot of teams. I’d take him at Sampdoria in a heartbeat. A partnership of Eto’o-Balotelli would be fantastic.'

Sampdoria are looking to offload Stefano Okaka and Eder who have attracted interest from Stoke and Crystal Palace respectively.

Liverpool are expected to offload Balotelli at the end of the season after an uninspiring year at Anfield.

The Italy international has struggled to hit the back of the net under Brendan Rodgers and has featured less prominently as the season has gone on.

The former Manchester City striker joined Liverpool in a £16million deal from AC Milan in August.
