Team Rwanda still best side in Tour du Cameroon

Team Rwanda Cycling has maintained their number one position as the best side in the general classification at the ongoing Tour du Cameroon at stage 5 from Bonaberie to Limbé, a total distance of 94km.

Emile Bintunimana finished fifth after arriving in the leading peloton alongside eventual winner Jérémie Nzeke of Cameroon alongside a total of the top 19 riders who all clocked 2:22:20 but were only separated by microseconds.

Rwandan riders Abraham Ruhumuriza was 10th while Nathan Byukusenge, Hakuzimana and Patrick Byukusenge were 13th, 16th and18th respectively. Cameroon's Clovis Kamzong has maintained the yellow jersey from day one and has a 48 second advantage over second-placed Rasmane Ouedraogo of Burkina Faso.

Meanwhile, Joseph Biziyaremye finished eighth in stage 2 of the ongoing Tour International de Setif after posting 2:36:54, microseconds behind winner Mekseb Debesay of Bike Aid from Germany after covering a total distance of 115.5km.

Jean Bosco Nsengimana, Janvier Hadi, Jeremie Karegeya, Bonaventure Uwizeyimana were 25th, 29th, 36th and 40th respectively while Valens Ndayisenga was rested for this route.

Today, Team Rwanda in Cameroon will compete in stage 6 from Limbé to Doula, a total distance of 122km while Team Rwanda in Algeria will continue to compete in stage 4 of the Tour International de Setif.
