Fecafoot Elections: Bell, Penne, Mebande disqualified

Former Player, Joseph Antoine Bell, Robert Penne and Bridgitte Mebande have been disqualified from Fecafoot Presidential race.

Tombi A Roko Sidiki and Robert Atah Behazah are the only two presidential candidates to stand for FECAFOOT elections slated for February, 25, 2015.

The revelation was made on Thursday at the FECAFOOT headquarters in Yaoundé after the meeting of the Fecafoot Electoral commission.

During a press briefing attended by members of the normalization committee and pressmen, the president of the Normalization Committee, Prof. Joseph Owona made it clear that after a careful study of the candidates’ files, only two persons produced the required documents for the post of the president.

Considering FECAFOOT statutes, elections will be held on the said date all things being equal.

“At the end, two lists were presented: the list of Tombi A Roko and that of Robert Atah who completed all the conditions; I say all conditions", said Joseph Owona.

According to Owona, those who were to complete their files have not done it. “We have candidates who have neither the sponsorship nor produced certified copies of some documents by the competent authorities.

It is not for the committee to still produce the documents for them” stressed Joseph Owona.

As it stands, Joseph Antoine Bell, Brigitte Mebande, Robert Penne and Jules F. Nyongha are not eligible.

Concerning the case of Tombi A Roko Sidiki who is under the investigations from the special criminal court, the Normalisation Committee President said that there is no course for alarm given that the court has not rule out its judgment.

The normalization committee is due to leave power after the 25th elections handing the command batten to those who will be voted to manage the affairs of football in Cameroon.
