He is going to be awesome when he is fully fit - Allardyce praises Song

West Ham manager Sam Allardyce has heaped praise on unsung hero Alex Song after his ‘awesome’ display against Swansea today.

The former Arsenal midfielder returned to the team after missing the last three games since the international break and helped the Hammers score a 3-1 home win over the Swans.

Allardyce’s side sit third in the Premier League table after their stunning start to the season and are clear of the likes of Manchester United, Liverpool, Arsenal and Tottenham.

Song is on a season-long loan from Barcelona and could be persuaded to make his stay in east London permanent.

Allardyce is clearly hoping that becomes the reality but he wants the Cameroon man to get fully fit first.

“He makes us sing, Song makes us sing,” Allardyce told the club’s official site.

“He controls the midfield, he is cool, calm and is good with the ball. Most of his passes are forward too. He can beat a man too, and wait for the right pass.

“He isn’t match fit yet, but he is going to awesome when he is match fit. He was awesome today.

“We were so much better with him today, so much more creative.

“Everyone has done their job brilliantly.”
