Japanese temptation for Samuel Eto'o

It is being reported that Japanese side Cerezo Osaka are trying to lure Samuel Eto'o away from Everton and Valencia are also hovering.

Samuel Eto'o could be the subject of a sensational bid from Japanese side Cerezo Osaka if the latest rumours are to be believed.

Eto'o only joined Everton in the summer after leaving Chelsea when his contract expired, but there is already speculation over his long-term future.

Despite frequent praise from teammates and manager Roberto Martinez, Eto'o is being linked with an extremely lucrative switch to Japanese club Cerezo Osaka.

Respected Italian transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio writes on his blog that the Osaka outfit have made a tempting provisional offer that Eto'o is weighing up.

Spanish club Valencia have also reportedly asked Everton about the Cameroon international's availability. The response is unknown.

It would seem unlikely that Eto'o would already be willing to call time on his Everton adventure, but the latest rumours may still worry Toffees fans.

Eto'o has scored three Premier League goals for Everton in five outings and also has one Europa League effort to his name.
