Everton can learn from Eto`o

On a day when mega bucks signing Romelu Lukaku had a mixed performance, free signing Samuel Eto`o put on a show for Everton.

Everton gaffer Roberto Martinez paired the strikers up against Burnley, in a game that should have been as easy as they come for Everton.

And following Eto`o's fourth minute goal it looked like Everton could stroll to a big victory.

But a slow tempo and personal errors gave Burnley a lifeline and hope.

The most obvious being Lukaku's poor and lackadaisical pass to let Danny Ings to equalise.

The big Belgian did restore Everton's lead but it was Eto'o who put on the match winning performance hitting Everton's third with an excellent long range strike, before seeing his chance for a hat-trick denied by the base of the post.

"He`s brilliant. There`s so much you can say about Samuel Eto`o really. He`s done it all. He`s been brilliant with us - there`s no ego or anything and he fits in great with all the lads. Seamus Coleman told The Post.

He continued: "That second goal he scored is something we see in training all the time. The way he drops off, gets the ball and puts it in that corner. Unfortunately he was denied his hat-trick but it was a class display.

"His work-rate shows a great example. Hopefully the likes of Rom (Lukaku) and everyone can learn a lot from him. It can only be good for everyone at the club."
