Eto’o fit for Europa League’s kick-off

Samuel Eto’o is set to make his return to action with Everton in their Europa League Group H opener against Wolfsburg at Goodison Park on Thursday.

The Cameroonian striker missed the Toffees’ trip to West Bromwich on Saturday while nursing a minor groin injury picked up in his club debut against Chelsea.

“Samuel Eto’o and Sylvain Distin will be back for Thursday plus the 18 players we had on Saturday, plus Tyias Browning,” Everton boss Roberto Martinez confirmed on the club’s official site.

The 33-year old’s last appearance in the Europa League came in 2012-2013 with former club Anzhi Makhachkala, when he scored 9 goals in 16 continental fixtures.

Everton’s Group H opponents also include French side Lille and Russian outfit FK Krasnodar.
