Elephants coach drops 4 players ahead of Cameroon trip

Côte d’Ivoire’s coach Hervé Renard has dropped four players from the squad on Monday, ahead of their trip to Cameroon.

Full-back Constant Djakpa, defenders Brou Benjamin Angoua and Ousmane Ouattara and midfielder Eric Tié Bi will not travel with the rest of the team, as the Elephants are set to face the Indomitable Lions in Yaoundé on Wednesday in matchday 2 of the Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2015 qualifiers in Group D.

However, centre-back Lamine Koné, who was not allowed to face Sierra Leone for administrative reasons, has been given the green light by CAF to represent Côte d’Ivoire and will be available for the Cameroon clash.

The Elephants came from behind to secure the three points against Sierra Leone in Abidjan in their Group D opener, while the Indomitable Lions enjoyed a convincing 2-0 away win in Lubumbashi against DR Congo to take the lead in the Group.

Côte d’Ivoire will reach Yaoundé on Monday night.
