Super Falcons will today seek to continue their unbeaten run against the Lioness of Cameroon in the Africa Women Championship as they square up against the Cameroonian women in their opening match at the 2012 Championship in Equatorial Guinea.
The match billed for Nkoantoma Stadium in Bata is an opportunity for the Falcons to revenge their ouster from the London 2012 Olympics.
The defending champions of the Africa Women Championship were upset by Cameroon in the qualifying rounds in the penalty shoot- out that ensued after aggregate scores stood at 3-3.
Today's match is therefore of importance to the two countries who have the three points at stake to play for and supremacy to contend for.
Although the Falcons will be without, Desire Oparanozie and Francisca Ordega, two key members of the Falconets at the just concluded FIFA U-20 World Cup in Japan, the team is not lacking quality and experience with veterans like Perpetua Nkwocha, Stella Mbachu and Precious Dede to guide the team to victory.
The Lioness will bank on Ajara Nchout, Jeanette Yango, Madeline Ngono and Francoise Bella to wreck the Falcons ambition of starting their hunt for a ninth AWC title on a sound note.
