Samuel Eto’o closes down his training center, Fundesport

The activities of the Samuel Eto'o Foundation in Douala have been suspended. The training sessions in various categories at Fundesport have been suspended for more than a month now. All the staff have been dismissed except for the Center Director Joseph "Diallo" Siéwé.

Questioned by journalists from the site mboafootball.com, they gave the following explanation: "activities have slowed down in recent months, but we are considering to revive the foundation and very soon, Fundesport will be brighter than what it was in the past". However, former employees that met Cameroon - info.net in Douala were specific: they claimed that their boss Samuel Eto’o “decided to close Fundesport because he was insulted in Cameroon."

Others from the paper, Le Jour believe that Eto'o is victim of the battle between the Director of the civil cabinet of the Presidency of the Republic, Martin Belinga Eboutou and the Minister delegate at the Presidency for defence Alain Mebe Ngo Edgar'o. The former captain of the Indomitable Lions, a great friend to the latter suffers from collateral damage stemming from the tense relationship between the two political leaders.
