Patrick Mboma at MINREX

He was received in audience by Minister Adoum Gargoum on March 22, 2013.

Former ace Indomitable Lion's striker, Patrick Mboma was Friday March 22, 2013 in Yaounde, guest at the Ministry of External Relations (MINREX). Patrick Mboma said he went to introduce himself as Goodwill Ambassador of Economic Community of Central African States, (ECCAS) for anti-poaching. He was received in audience by the Minister Delegate at the Ministry of External relations in charge of Relations with the Islamic World (MINDELMI), Adoum Gargoum.

It was the first meeting Patrick Mboma had with Adoum Gargoum in his capacity as Goodwill Ambassador for ECCAS against poaching. They both charted ways to protect animals especially, elephants in particular cease from being extinct. Elephants are being killed every day, and Patrick Mboma said, "We have to put a halt to this". He explained "there was need to preserve this rare species of animals for posterity without which we will lack answers to questions from our children." He explained that they envisage ways of developing anti-poaching communication strategies for the continent and Cameroon in particular where elephants are suffering from poachers.
