Ndamukong Suh could end up in Green Bay - LaVar Arrington

NFL Analyst, LaVar Arrington says that Green Bay might be the best fit for All Pro defensive tackle, Ndamukong Suh

The Detroit Lions All-Pro defensive tackle, Ndamukong Suh, may not be resigning with the Lions this off-season. NFL analyst, LaVar Arrington says that Suh’s best option is to sign with the Lion’s divisional rival, the Green Bay Packers.

The Lion’s drafted Suh with the No. 2 overall pick in the 2010 NFL Draft and signed him to a five year 64.5 million dollar contract. Now that this deal is up, Suh wants a bigger contract. Something equal or exceeding that of the Houston Texan’s and J.J. Watt’s contractual agreement that is worth $100 million over six years.

This makes Suh one of the hottest commodities in the free agency market if Detroit decides not to resign him. His 53 tackles and 8.5 sacks last season were critical for the Lion’s defense. He helped Detroit finish second in the NFC North at 11-5 and make it to the wild-card playoff game only to lose to the Dallas Cowboys, 26-21.

NFL analyst LaVar Arrington said there might be a better fit out there for Suh. He might be the missing piece to the Packer’s puzzle next season. According to Steve Schrader of the Detroit Free Press, Arrington thinks Suh would look best in green and yellow.

“A lot of times, players that leave their team feel disrespected and that they weren’t treated correctly, and they tend to stay in the division. I’m looking at Green bay. I think that would be a great fit.”

It is hard to picture one of the most hated players at Lambeau Field, suiting up next to Aaron Rogers and company. But that defensive front for Green Bay would be absolutely terrifying if Suh signed with the Pack.

“They’re going to get B.J. Raji back, so now you’re looking at B.J. Raji and Ndamukong Suh,” Arrington would go on to say. “And then you got those guys on the outside — more specifically, you have Julius Peppers, you got Clay Matthews…”

It is quite the talented lineup. However, in Suh’s last game against the Packers he was pegged with intentionally trying to re-injure Aaron Rogers’ hurt calf. I am sure if Suh ends up in Lambeau, the talent level and intensity he would bring to the Packers’ defensive would probably help resolve any sour feelings between the two.

In any case, we will have to wait for the Lions to act. They have until March 10th to offer Suh a deal that would exceed J.J. Watts. If they choose to continue down a path that does not involve their star tackle, look for the Green Bay Packers to jump at this enormous opportunity.
