National gymnastics team to be mobilized soon

In anticipation of the beginning of the sporting season, Cameroon Gymnastics Federation (Fecagym) held its General Assembly on Saturday, January 31 in Yaoundé.

On the agenda of discussions among other things, was the proofreading of the texts of the instance and the development of the schedule for the season.

"Through a decision of the tutelage, new officials were appointed, including the DTN, as well as national coaches. There is the need for a General Assembly to define the roles of everyone", said Emmanuel Awounou, president of the Fecagym.

Furthermore, at the end of the work, the Federation should have texts, "which meets the norms" to complete its operations.

The objectives of this year's season, is for the Fecagym to pursue the detection of talent across the country. "Our roadmap is clear. We have received a number of instructions from the hierarchy: which is to continue the work of detection of talent; set up deconcentrated structures, groom trainers, find athletes likely to form a national team in the discipline and sit competitions in different areas that we have defined," explained the president of Fecagym.

He expressed satisfaction on the balance sheet of the past season. "Overall, we are pleased with the work done in 2014, despite obvious difficulties. We had among other things, a crisis at the financial level. However, we try to control our concerns so as to give the best of ourselves. During the last Dixiades and during the cup of Cameroon, we produced champions", he concluded.
