National Olympic Committee cancels regional elections

The Board of Conciliation and Arbitration of Olympic and the Sports of Cameroon National Committee recently annulled the recent elections within departmental and regional football leagues. It made the verdict at the end of the hearing of Thursday, November 28, 2014.

A hearing which took place following the motions filed Wednesday by president of Etoile filante Garoua after the motion was filed by Abdouraman Hamadou Babba.

Also, the former Director of Cabinet, Iya Mohammed challenged the validity of the current electoral process in the regions and departments. According to him, he wanted to ensure that the elections would be repeated from the beginning.

The Board of conciliation and arbitration had however, “Rendered the decisions null and void in accordance with sentences of no 009 and 010/SA/CCA 14 of October 30, 2014”, stated Mohammed.

The Committee for Standardization of the Cameroon football Federation has now 21 days to appeal to the Court of arbitration for sport.
