Milla to return as Honorary President of FECAFOOT

The Executive Committee of FECAFOOT has expressed its wish to see President Roger Milla retrieve the post of "Honorary President of FECAFOOT" he lost in May 2012, sources informed Camfoot.

Tombi A Roko met the former Indomitable Lion last week in Yaounde, for this purpose. "He came to see me at my home so that these quarrels will end. I welcomed him," said the two times CAF African Best Player; 1976 and 1990.

Towards a Tombi and Milla agreement?

It was however not easy for the President of the Cameroon Football Federation to land a date with the Cameroon football legend. It is only by the permission of the Prime Minister, Philemon Yang, that Roger Milla finally agreed to grant a hearing to Tombi A Roko, after several failed attempts.

"Before he comes to see me, I first asked the prime minister if I could receive and discuss with him, and he said, yes, you can go. That is why I welcomed him," reported the two-time African champion in 1984 and 1988.

After angrily criticizing the old FECAFOOT system in place, Roger Milla is likely to return to better sentiments.

"I think everything is in place," he said.

"We will try to accompany him, to get the job done right."

The two men discussed much, especially the return of Roger Milla as the Honorary Presidency of FECAFOOT. But the ambassador, who has not yet officially accepted, posed some conditions.

"I told him that we want a clean work. The first thing: integrates all former Cameroonian footballers who can work with FECAFOOT, to help, to be in the Commissions and train our different selections. Then we will see how we can accompany," said the former AS Monaco player.

As for the "matter involving the head of FECAFOOT," essentially "is that football works and that Cameroonians are happy. We hope that things will get better," he concluded.

The return of Roger Milla to FECAFOOT is now more a probability.
