Cameroon Indomitable Lions coach Martin Ndtoungou Mpile, says his side needs to work hard despite beating Angola's Palanca Negras in their opening Chan 2016 game played at the Huye Stadium.

Mpile was however pleased by the character of his players despite going a man down as they held on to the solitary goal to go second in group B behind DR Congo who had earlier walloped Ethiopia 3-0.

"Our game against Angola was very tough coupled with the red card but I am glad we emerged victorious but we still have a rough game against DR Congo who now lead our group."

"Winning the first game gives the players morale to give 100 percent in the next game and that is where our focus will be shifted immediately," Mpile told supersport.com

Mpile believes they will be in better shape as the tournament proceeds but added “Substantive work must be done to prepare for this matches,” Cameroon’s only appearance at the CHAN finals was in 2011 when they reached the quarterfinals.
