Lions defeat DRC 1-0 to qualify for Nations Cup

The Indomitable Lions have defeated DR Congo 1-0 to qualify for the African Nations Cup after two consecutive failures.

Aboubakar scored the goal that Liberated Lions at the 64th minute into the encounter just some minutes after replacing Choupo Moting who apparently was not in his element.

It was during this second half that the game gathered some steam after a lackluster first half in which the Lions shot right into the waiting hands of Congolese keeper, Kidiba Robert with a unique hairstyle.

During this time Cameroon goalkeeper, Fabrice Ondoua was idling in his post and only got busy in the second half.

Ondoua got rattled when he made a poor appreciation of the ball and missing his save collided with Congolese attacker.

Fortunately Nicolas Nkoulou was on the right spot at the right time to save the Lions from a goal in the first half which probably would have psychologically played on their performance.

The lions were absent from two consecutive Nations Cups and have been able to qualify with 13 points drawing one and winning the other games and no defeat.

With the Nations Cup to be played in Equatorial Guinea the Lions would practically be playing at home.
