Alexandre Belinga was appointed as the head of the technical staff of the Indomitable Lions, on Friday, October, 30.

Prior to his appointment, he was Volker Finke’s assistant.

While some may have been surprised by the decision of the President of FECAFOOT, Tombi A Roko Sidiki, the appointment of Alexandre Belinga is, however, not surprising for those who have been following the Cameroon football for years.

The least it can be confirmed that the new coach of the national team is familiar with football in his country. Coach Belinga has indeed made the rounds of the elite clubs. Between Renaissance of Ngoumou, Fovu club de Baham, Unisport de Haut-Nkam and Les Astres de Douala, the technician has gathered enough experience.

Even if his career has not always been successful, the tactician always left the image of a man more rigorous and very outspoken, wherever he found himself.

Alexandre Belinga did not hesitate to slam the door in the face o his employer who spoke to him inappropriately. That was how he resigned from the bench when he resigned from Les Astres of Douala.

After being with the Junior Lions, where he was assistant coach for some time, the new coach of Cameroon was appointed assistant coach of the Indomitable Lions in January 2014. However, he had earlier on predicted his appointment.

"I hope Volker Finke will take into account my remarks. On the contrary, I will not fail him," he said during Olympia sports issue by Philippe Boney.

Trained at Clairefontaine in France, Alexandre Belinga benefited from the system of equivalence to be a licensed CAF A, the highest degree in the continent. His appointment to the Indomitable Lions was a consecration.
