Finke's meeting with the press, a false alarm

Cameroonian sports Journalist were invited to a meeting with Volker Finke by an anonymous telephone message and finally, media men were surprised to know that it was actually a false alarm. And their surprise was nothing compared to that of the coach of the Indomitable Lions.

"How can I give a press conference without the press team's involvement? It is not possible. I did not ask anyone to summon journalists," said the German coach.

Unable to find traces of the source of this "sick joke", a few journalist rebelled. "When we speak of the Indomitable Lions, it always arouses particular interest. And so, having learned that the coach was going to meet the press, we thought it was an opportunity to get some answers to questions that arise from the return of the Lions. Unfortunately, it was a false alarm and a big waste of time," responds Lindovi Ndjio of La Nouvelle Expression.

To him, the ten journalists who invaded the hotel lobby of Mont Febe in Yaoundé left without any attempt to "be granted at least an interview with the coach."

Volker Finke has however promised that he will address the Cameroonian press at the appropriate time and the announcement of the conference should be by the Cameroon Football Federation (FECAFOOT).
