FIFA : The African Confederation will not support Musa Bility

The Executive Committee of the African Football Confederation has unanimously refused to give its support to the President of the Federation of Liberia, Musa Bility, a candidate for president of FIFA, according to CAF on Thursday.

“After an amicable exchange, filled with sincerity and cordiality, the Executive Committee of CAF decided unanimously not to bring Mr. Musa Bility the requested support,” said the African body.

The CAF stated that "in order to safeguard the interests and unity of African football, it will give time to explore all options and determine who will be elected."

CAF Executive Committee will meet on October 27 and 28 for nominations for the presidency of FIFA. The election will be held on February 26, 2016.

Besides Michel Platini and Musa Bility, the former Brazilian legend, Zico, and South Korea’s, Chung Mong-Joon, declared themselves candidates. While the candidates will have to attain approval from at least, five of the 209 FIFA member associations, they will be evaluated by the Ethics Commission.
