FCFA 2bln for renovation of Western region stadiums

Abandoned for over 20 years, the stadium which was almost completed might as well get out of the bush in which it is located through reconstruction which is set to cost FCFA 1.2 billion.

Like that of Bafoussam Tocket, municipal stadiums of Mbouda and Fotso Victor in Bandjoun will benefit from rehabilitation works. The amount allocated for this work is 600 million CFA francs.

The state has devoted part, however, small it may be, to the rehabilitation of these sports facilities.

The selection of beneficiaries of public funding of stadiums is not accidental. It is within the framework of preparations for the African Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Cameroon in 2019.

The Bafoussam city has been chosen to host some group games in this competition.
