Five days before the competition, preparations have been stalled due to the fact that there is a budgetary constraint to be solved and there is still a mystery surrounding the presence of the delegations expected at the event.
On Thursday, October 30, 2014, runners who will represent Cameroon at the Chantal Biya international Grand Prix for cyclist started their training.
Dieudonné Ntep and his mates chose the city of Mbalmayo to prepare for this competition which was originally scheduled from 15 to 19 October 2014 but had to be postponed due to two tragic events: the sudden death of the president of the Cameroon Cycling Federation, Moustapha Dogo on October 08 and the death of rosette Mboutchouang, the mother of first lady (godmother of this sporting event) on October 02,.
The preparations towards this event required substantial financial resources, unfortunately, it was on Wednesday that a nominal fee was released to allow Cameroonian runners to avoid ridicule.
Reached by telephone yesterday, the national coach refused to comment, preferring to calmly continue the preparation.
Another sign of the fiasco is the financial gloom that prevails currently in the various committees set up to ensure the smooth running of this event. The various commissions involved; hospitality, finance, communication, technical Committee, logistics, accommodation lack money to complete preparations, pending the launch of the criteria for the competition.
