Cameroon will take on DR Congo in Butare on Monday in their final 2016 African Nations Championship group stage outing.

Lying second in Group B on four points, two adrift of their opponents of the day who have already booked their spot in the last eight, the Indomitable Lions only need a draw to progress, knowing that a win will see them finish top of the group.

Thus, Hugo Nyame and his teammates are approaching this crucial clash against the Leopards with a good sense of confidence.

“Cameroon are lying second in Group B and are in a good position to qualify,” Lions’ coach Martin Ndtoungou Mpilé said.

“We will try to keep this momentum going against DR Congo this Monday.

“Our team is young. We believe that they are busy improving. The 23 players are making a lot of efforts and I am convinced that we will extend our journey in this competition.”

Meanwhile, DR Congo will be looking to extend their winning run after enjoying back-to-back victories over Ethiopia and Angola.

Already through to the knockout stage, the Leopards just a need a draw to finish top of their group.

The game will kick off at Huye Stadium at 16h00 CAT on Monday, with Ethiopia to give their all against Angola in the other Group B fixture in Kigali at the same time.
