Cameroon are favorites- Aka Essis Baudelaire

Côte d’Ivoire defender Aka Essis Baudelaire believes that Cameroon will be the favorites when the two sides face each other in the quarterfinals of the 2016 African Nations Championship in Butare on Saturday.

The Elephants sealed their spot in the last eight through a runners-up finish in their Group A, while the Indomitable Lions won Group B to progress.

“It is a great feeling for me and my teammates to belong to this generation who qualified Côte d’Ivoire to the quarterfinals for the first time. It is a great honour,” Aka Essis said on FIF's official website.

“We are playing Cameroon, who are a very serious side. They are the favorites. Cameroon remain Cameroon.

“We remain humble, but Côte d’Ivoire also remain Côte d’Ivoire. We have some challenges to take up as did our older brothers. Each match has its own truth."

The kick-off is scheduled at Huye Stadium at 18h00 CAT on Saturday.
