CMR liaise with Morocco in social housing towards AFCON 2016

A group of Moroccan businessmen has just made offers of investment to the Government of Cameroon, in the fields of the realization of social housing and the erection of infrastructure related to the African Cup of Nations 2016 (ladies) and 2019 (gentlemen).

Outside contacts described as "fruitful" with members of the Government, they carried out raids on the field not only in Yaoundé, the capital of the country, but also in the seaside city of Kribi, where the deep sea port is currently being constructed.

Early September 2012, Cameroon and the Morocco signed 5 agreements of cooperation in the areas of small and medium-sized enterprises, crafts, trade, sports, training and education.

A few weeks ago, leaders of the Moroccan group Alliances came to propose to the Cameroonian authorities their participation in the triennial emergency plan launched by the Government of Yaoundé, mainly in the health sectors and real estate.

According to official figures, trade between the two countries, in 2011, valued at some 48 million U.S. dollars, an increase of 17 million dollars compared with 2010.

Morocco is today present in Cameroon across sectors as diverse that of the distribution of drinking water, air transport, agriculture, banking, real estate, insurance and cement.
