The two Cameroonian technicians, Alexandre Belinga and Bonaventure Djonkep, who were appointed interim coaches to head the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon, completed their mission on November 17, 2015, after the return match which pitted the Lions against Niger at the Ahmadou Ahidjo stadium.

The day after the meeting, despite the Lions' qualification for the third round of qualifying for the World Cup Russia 2018, certain information reported that the Cameroon Football Federation is searching for a new national team coach.

The names of Herve Renard former coach of the Ivory Coast and Zambia were insistently mentioned.

But to the former Indomitable Lion, Albert Roger Milla, Belinga and Alexandre Bonaventure Djonkep must be maintained.

"I think we should let them work. They completed their mission; since they qualified Cameroon for the final round of qualifiers for the 2018 World Cup. I always said that Cameroonians should be given the opportunity," he was quoted in the daily La Nouvelle Expression newspaper on Tuesday, November 24, 2015.

The African player of the century believes it is time to trust the Cameroonian technicians.

"If tomorrow he does not work, we will change and put another Cameroonian. We need to quickly find our place. And to do that, you need people to support our players in the qualifying success not only for the African Cup of Nations 2017 in Gabon but also the qualification of the 2018 World Cup."

"Yes, I want them to be appointed permanently. But I am not the one who decides. If I can plead for my compatriots, I'm ready to do so," he stressed.
