Bamenda Sports Academy President lauded for development initiative

The president of FC Bamenda Sports Academy Dinga Joseph has been praised for bolstering the economy of the North West Region.

Kamara Divine kamara D.O for Bali made the appraisal on the occasion of the official launching of the Silver Spring and Resort Hotel on the 22nd of February 2015 in Ngwatkang, in the outskirt of Bamenda.

Mr. Kamara praised the proprietor Dinga Joseph as one of his kind and an “icon of development”. He however regretted the fact that more sons and daughters of Bali were not investing back home to bolster the economy and has left development only in the hands of the Government. He appealed to them to invest in their town of origin.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Dinga expressed his dissatisfaction with the Bali municipality for not being “development friendly.” He frowned on the fact that the council does not encourage entrepreneurs and investors to operate in the area. He also bashed contractors whom he blamed for being morally bankrupt.

“Many contractors are no longer honest with their work but instead use it to dupe honest businessmen” he said.

He also declared his intentions to open a museum in the days ahead and pleaded with administrative, municipal and traditional authorities to support him develop the land and country as a whole.

A gala football match by Njenka and Atuakum veterans graced the occasion, followed by the cutting of a ribbon and cake by the D.O to officially launch the Silver Spring Resort Hotel.

Silver Spring is situated in the outskirt of Bamenda, in the Ngwatkan neighbourhood of Bali, some 9 Km away from the city centre and is accessible via Mile 87 on the Bamenda Bali Road and from Alahbukam on the Bamenda-Mbengwi Road, near the old CRTV transmission centre.

It shares the same compound with FC Bamenda Sports Acadamy. It offers hotel facilities for individuals and families and for football teams with 16 large rooms, equipped with cooking facilities, telephones, satellite TV, outside relaxation and barbecue.
