All Africa Games: Gold for Auriole Dongmo

Trained by the Moroccan Mohamed Fatihi, coach of Franck Elemba, the Cameroonian Auriole Dongmo had the last medal in shot put. Her first attempt was finally good to start with 17m 21, Cameroon's new record.

The Nigerian Claire Uke follows on the podium with 57 centimeters less. The South African Sonia Smuts is third with 15m 92.

Obtained at the time when athletes in Eastern Europe turned not only clear water, the record of the Soviet Natalya Lisovskaya (22m 63 in Moscow in 1987) seems untouchable.

Both records, Africa and the Games, the Nigerian Vivian Chukwuemeka is more credible: 18m 35 in 2006 and 18.12 in Abuja in 2003.
