African Best Player 2015: Stéphane Mbia confident of winning

Stephane Mbia has expressed his pleasure to be among the 37 names announced by CAF (Confederation of African Football) Awards to be held at the end of the year.

The Cameroonian midfielder is also confident to win the award.

"It is an honour to be recognized and appreciated in football in Africa. This year has been wonderful for me and it adds a special touch," said Mbia to French media. The Trabzonspor player also believes he is one of the favorites for the title.

"I have great respect for each player representing the continent and I am happy when I see each of us carry the torch. But if we consider football as an essential criterion of choice, I do not feel threatened by anyone. Last year, I won the Europa League. This year, I won for a second consecutive time. The conclusion is that no player has had the same sporting achievement,"said Mbia.

If Yaya Toure, four times winner is still favourite, Mbia and Aubameyang could also be considered as favourites.
