Coach Volker Finke and his boys are expected at the Gambia Independence Stadium for the second day of the qualifiers on September 6, 2015.

In view of this expedition, the Cameroonian technical staff selected Dakar, capital of Senegal (neighbouring country of Gambia), for an adjustment course which runs from August 30 to September 4, 2015. They will play an evaluation match against the under-23 selection of Senegal. All these appointments were communicated to the Cameroon Football Federation for confirmation.

FECAFOOT is also expected to review and publish the list of players summoned for the match against Gambia. A source within the technical staff of the Indomitable Lions disclosed that the head coach, Volker Finke, has just put the finishing touches on this long-awaited list and could have many surprises.

For instance, Cameroon-Info.Net was informed that Pierre Abogo who has been the third goalkeeper of the Lions, could not be convened in favour of André Onana, 18-year-old young goalkeeper and former Barcelona player who was sold to Ajax Amsterdam eight months ago.

The defenders, Sébastien Bassong, Allan Nyom and Joel Matip, could also sign their return to the national team. What about Alexandre Song and Idriss Carlos Kameni whose returns were also announced?

"These are more complicated cases. We have begun discussions for their return but barring a miracle, those files will not be looped before the game against Gambia. So we hope to have them soon,” said our source. The publication of the official list will be announced at the end of the week.

In Group M, Cameroon, who defeated Mauritania on the first day, is leading with 3 points followed by South Africa and Gambia with a point each. Mauritania is last in the group with zero points.

While Cameroon will play against Gambia in September, South Africa will also play against Mauritania.
