53 youths trained in entrepreneurship honoured

The Minister of Youth Affairs and Civic Education urged the graduates to be apt in their various fields for an emerging Cameroon.

Over 50 youths who were trained in entrepreneurship have received their end- of- year course certificates as well as money which will enable them put their skills into practice.

The ceremony to award diplomas and special gifts to the laureates who effectively took long and short term courses at the Reference Multipurpose Centre for the Promotion of Youths in Yaounde, took place on June 30, 2016.

Presiding over the ceremony, the Minister of Youth Affairs and Civic Education, Mounouna Foutsou encouraged the Laureates to unite themselves in a distinct manner to effectively contribute to an emerging Cameroon in 2035.

While noting that youths constitute a major factor to accelerate the growth of Cameroon, the Minister of Youth Affairs and Civic Education told the laureates “you are now capable of transforming your dreams and ideas into serious entrepreneurial projects while making good use of the trainings you have received in the centre”.

The Chief of the Reference Multipurpose Centre for the Promotion of Youths, Armand Pierre Dominique Mveme Atanga said the institution was graduating its 53rd promotion which had undertaken training in Executive office Administration, Electricity, Mechanics, Tailoring, Bakery and Food Sciences, Driving and Computer Sciences, amongst others.

Over three years, the institution has graduated some 1565 youths in different domains.

The centre, which is currently training some 250 learners, receives technical and financial assistance from partners such as the Circle of Friends of Cameroon (CERAC).

Armand Pierre Dominique Mveme Atanga noted that one of the major challenges the centre has is to give the learners upon graduation, money to start-up a business in a bid to continue performing what they had learned from the school.
