The French company Thales Security through its representative Jean Claude Fabre just refunded the Cameroonian Government the sum of 175 142 100 million CFA francs, as part of a lawsuit filed by the General Delegation for National Security (GDNS). At the hearing of 21 April, the receipt was presented by Alexis Bayebec to the Special Criminal Court (SCC).

You should know as a reminder that the first hearing was held on December 18, 2015. Jean Claude Fabre was accused of embezzlement. The latter was to provide and establish national identity cards, residence permits and residence cards.

“For this, he had then secured the services of the Gomas institutions whose owner is Marie Gondang for the supply of computer equipment. Only financial flows to this establishment without evidence had attracted the attention of the financial investigation agency that discovered the all the bribes, “reports the Daily newspaper Emergence edition on newsstands of April 22 2016. The GDNS therefore decided to terminate the contract in 2014.

During the last hearing, the defense filed a prosecution termination request against the French Colonel and Mary Gondang. By law, the SCC has 72 hours to route the request to the Minister of Justice “who will judge the appropriateness of a possible stay of proceedings after the restitution of the body of the crime as provided for in Article 18 of the law No. 2011/028 of 14 December 2011 “, informs the newspaper.
