MINESEC: Manual labour gets new-look

MINSEC MINSEC

The Ministry of Secondary Education has organised a two-day workshop to validate a guide for manual labour in secondary schools.

The workshop scheduled to run till 13th August 2015 will be a medium for the exchange of notes to give a new face to manual labour as from the 2015-2016 academic year.

At the end of the meeting, the Secondary education experts will validate a manual labour guide which will boost students’ productivity, facilitate learners’ evaluation and follow up manual labour teachers.

The Inspector of School Life in the South West region, Fonjie Rachel explained that the program will have five modules including agriculture, fishery, poultry, weaving and artworks.

Through these domains, students will be able to develop skills to increase productivity in society.

The workshop is in line with the Head of State’s call to make the youth industrious.

Accordingly, Government in partnership the United Nations (UNESCO) is determined to give manual labour a dynamic dimension as from next academic year.
