The US Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense Amanda Dory expressed her excitement to be with a delegation from Washington, D.C. and Stuttgart.
She noted that at their meeting with the Minister for External Relations, they discussed a wide range of bilateral issues, particularly in the security domain.
"We discussed the threat of violent extremism and the support we provided to assist Cameroon over time and our projections into the future," she said.
"We assessed recent development in northern Cameroon with respect to Boko Haram and the growing strength of the region’s response, including the establishment of the Multinational Task Force around the Lake Chad. We will work to support the Joint Task Force as established and we will continue to work very strongly on a bilateral basis as we have over time with Cameroon as well as with other partners of the Lake Chad Basin.
